Conference CECILIA was carried out in the Lilia Hotel in the period 21-23.05.2008

 

         The fourth working meeting within the framework of Project of the European Union Central and Eastern Europe Climate Change Impact and VulnerabiLIty Assessment carried out in the Lilia Hotel. There were discussed and analysed some topical problems relevant to the climate changes. The event began with a press conference, where were representatives of many bulgarian televisions and newspapers. In the begin of the conference statements were hold by the deputy director of National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology – Bulgarian Academy of Science and by the program director of the project Tomas Halenka (Czech Republic). Scientists from 14 countries participated in the working meeting. There were presented annual report for the local authorities, Project status and outlooks, as well as climate change scenarios for near future (time slice 2020-2050) and for the end of century (time slice 2070-2100). The scientists paid especially attention to the water resources (sea and river) and the accent was the effective use of water and the ways to improve it.

International Prtisoner Health Conference

The International Prisoner Health Conference was carried out in the period 23-26.09.2007 parallel in Hotel "Lilia" and Hotel "Palm Beach". The participants were devided in groups, which discussed various important problems in the prisons - violence, illness, AIDS, drugs, etc. The VIP-guests were welcomed personally by the mayor of Varna Kiril Yordanov. He also organized for them a cocktail in Municipality building in Varna. Part of the guests were directors of prisons in whole Bulgaria, representatives of Municipality Varna, of the World Health Organisation (WHO), of the United Nations (UN), of International Prisoner Health Magazine and various public institutions all over the world.

GOTTHARD are guests of the Lilia Hotel while they are preparing for their concert in Kavarna

          The swiis hardrock band is carrying out a "Domino Effect Tour 2007". One of their concerts is going to be in Kavarna, Bulgaria, on September the 6th. The musicians have very long and succesfull history, which includes:

  • 11 No. 1 albums;

  • 1 Diamond Award (1 million albums sold in Switzerland);

  • 1 Tripple Platinum album (Homerun);

  • 5 Double Platinum albums (Human Zoo, One Life One Soul, Open, DeFrosted, Lipservice);

  • 5 Platinum albums (Gotthard, Dial Hard, G, One Team One Spirit, Made in Switzerland);

  • 1 No. 1 Single (Heaven);

  • 6 Top 10 Singles;

  • 1 Golden Single (Heaven).

         The rock musicians are going to stay in the Lilia Hotel two days before their concert in Kavarna. Reporters from the Bulgarian National Television are going to interview them in the hotel just before the concert.

Rok-musicians are putting up and preparing for a concert in Lilia Hotel

          Two Russian hardrok bands are going to be guests of the Lilia Hotel in the period 15-17.08.2007 – the legendary ARIA and “the new hope” ANJ. The bands are on the Bulgarian Blackseacoast because of the concert, called “Russian Metal Fest”, that is going to be on August 16th in Kavarna. The fans of the harder music know pretty well the band ARIA, whose 10 albums made it very popular not only in Bulgaria. The younger but promising band ANJ, formed in the year 2002, is also successfull and is going to be on the scene with the legendary musicians from ARIA side by side. The rok-musicians has choosen the Lilia Hotel for their stay in Bulgaria – to take a rest and to make ready for the unique concert. On August 16th the musicians are going to hold a press conference in the seminar hall of the Lilia Hotel.

50 years Lilia Hotel

          In the present year 2007 the worldwide popular resort Golden Sands celebrates its 50-th anniversary. In 1956 began the built of the first hotels in the picturesque site Usun Kum (“Long sands”). In this way this site, which combines golden sand, bright beach, crystal pure wather and centuries-old wood has began to transform into resort, visited from guests all over the world. On August 11th,1956  the first sod of the new international resort was turned exactly on the site of today’s Lilia Hotel. In one year the built was already finished and the hotel was open for tourists. In this way began the dynamic history of  the resort Golden sands, where during the years has been made many changes and innovations. But throughout this 50 years is Lilia Hotel one of the symbols of the resort and a preferable place for a holiday and business for bulgarian and foreign guests.
